Customer Story: Windows VPS Security, Backup and Dedicated IP Questions
A buyer planning to use an Express Windows VPS for the long term sent our sales team twenty questions before paying anything. They wanted to know what security the base plan includes, whether Windows Server is licensed at no extra cost, how the dedicated static IPv4 add-on is priced, where the servers are, how VPS backup works, and what happens if Remote Desktop gets blocked by mistake.

What the Customer Asked Before Buying: Security, License, Dedicated IP and Pricing
At 06:26 on October 10, 2026, the customer sent fifteen numbered questions in five groups: firewall and DDoS protection, RDP security, account security, Windows licensing and dedicated IP, and pricing and reliability. They closed with one request:
"Please confirm which security features are included in the base Express plan and which, if any, require additional payment."

These are the questions most buyers of a small Windows VPS end up asking. Does the license cost extra? Is the IP really dedicated? Will the price go up at renewal? What happens if I lock myself out of RDP?
Firewall, RDP Security, Windows License and Pricing: What Sales Answered
Emma from our Sales Department replied at 09:59, about three and a half hours after the ticket was opened.
Firewall and DDoS protection
Express includes the standard Windows Firewall at no extra cost. There is no dedicated DDoS protection appliance on the network. The customer controls the firewall rules on their VPS, so they can restrict incoming connections by IP address, block specific ports, or stop specific programs from reaching the network.
RDP security
RDP can be limited to your own public IP through Windows Firewall rules. Network Level Authentication (NLA) is enabled by default, and you can view or toggle it by pressing Win + R, entering sysdm.cpl, and opening the Remote tab in System Properties. You receive full Administrator access, so every Windows security setting is yours to change.
Account security
The account portal supports two-factor authentication. At login, a one-time verification code is sent to the registered email address. VPS resources are logically isolated from other customers at the file system, operating system and network levels. Because VPS instances share physical hardware, full physical isolation is not provided.
Windows license and dedicated IP
Every Windows VPS includes a fully licensed, activated Windows Server at no extra cost.
The customer had asked whether base Express already includes a dedicated static IP. It doesn't. Express comes with a shared IPv4 address by default, and a dedicated static IPv4 can be added for $2.00 per month. Plans from Express Plus upward include one dedicated IP as standard. The $2.00 add-on is also what you buy for a second IPv4 address on those plans.
The assigned IP stays the same across monthly renewals and server restarts. If you later upgrade to a plan that requires moving you to a new server, a new IP is assigned as part of that move.
Pricing and uptime
The $8.99 per month rate is a lifetime price and does not increase at renewal. There are no mandatory setup, security or hidden fees, and the only extra costs are optional add-ons. Support is available 24/7 by live chat and ticket, with a 99.9% uptime SLA.
Data Center Location, Backups, Console Access and the Free Trial
At 23:54 the same day, the customer replied that they were considering the plan with the $2 dedicated static IPv4 add-on, and sent five follow-up questions. Lilian from the Sales Department answered at 03:40 on October 11, about three hours and forty minutes later.

Automatic backups and snapshots
Express includes automatic backups once every four weeks at no extra cost. Snapshots are not available on this plan.
Emergency console access
The control panel does not provide console access on our VPS plans. If you block RDP by accident, contact support for troubleshooting and recovery.
Dedicated static IPv4 pricing
With the add-on, the total comes to $10.99 per month. The add-on stays at the same price when you renew, as long as the pricing and service terms don't change, and the IP generally stays the same across renewals and restarts.

Notes & Troubleshooting
- If you want a dedicated IP, check the plan first. On Express it costs $2.00 per month extra, and from Express Plus upward one is included.
- The control panel has no console access. If you restrict RDP to your own IP, double-check your address before saving the rule. If you get locked out, support is the way back in.
